about

'Ison' or 'isokratima' ("ισοκράτημα"), refers to a slow-moving drone note that supports the melody of a chant, thus enriching the singing.

Diaspora refers to a scattered population in distinct geographical areas that in some way hold from similar roots or origins.

Creating a synthesis of these two terms led to the basic premise of this record, which was to weave together scattered friends and collaborators and unify their sounds and voices under the drones.

Written and recorded during an era of pandemic, paranoia, uncertainty, depression, repression and ecocide. Whatever the cost or loss may be, in this limited time we have here on earth, the intention remains to burst our guts from singing.
